Weather permitting, the meeting of Aberavon and Pontypool will be one of the most attractive matches in Wales over the weekend with very litle daylight between the two clubs at the head of the division.

Aberavon have some injury problems, particularly at lock, and will hope that Chris Gittins, in particular, will recover and prevent no 8 forward Richard Morris having to move up, while it is at half-back that the match could be won and lost.

Jamie Davies and acting captain Danny Hawkins will oppose the Ponty pairing of Byron Hayward and either Kevin Ellis or Nicky Lloyd as the scrum half.

Another hard match will be at Bedwas, where Newbridge are the visitors and the latter’s coach Mike Watkins will be eager to get his men out after a week’s absence. The mighty boot of Jason Williams could be the deciding factor.

Llandovery hope to get their show back on the rails when they visit Tondu, but the latter can often tumble higher clubs and former wales prop Hugh Williams-Jones will have told his men that the Drovers must be halted up front and not allow their talented backs the ball.

Glamorgan Wanderers have to pull out of a downward slide when they entertain Tredegar at the Memorial Ground, but the visitors are also out of form.

Llanharan have scored over 120 points in their last two matches and face a Bonymaen side that desperately need solidity at fly half. Former Wales cap Darril Williams is likely to figure in the Bonymaen backs, but Nicky Bonham and James Davies are troubled by injury.

Treorchy against Beddau represents a slight chance of a rare win for the Zebras, but that would mean a problem for Rumney, who entertain Narberth in a match that may be switched to the Cardiff University ground.
Frost is usually a problem for Blackwood and they will have to make an early decision if it is needed to stop Carmarthen Quins travelling. The visitors could be without centre Emyr Jones, after hisdismissal in his last appearance.

Whitland hope to change a run that has shown them playing better away from home. They have failed to score a try in their last two home matches, but the win last week at Glamorgan Wanderers will put them in good heart to entertain a Cross Keys side who have won their last three matches.
