Jones Looking For Continuity

Ospreys coach Lyn Jones says he is hoping to build on last weekend’s win over Ulster in Friday night’s match against the Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade.
‘We are trying to play the game in a manner that results in developing players for the national squad, and that means both sides approaching the match in the same way as Ulster and ourselves last week,’ Jones said.
‘It is all about continuity, fitness and speed and we will be looking to reproduce last week’s performance on Friday.
‘We now have a strong starting point on which to build and develop further over the next few fixtures.
‘We have made two changes, and one positional change from last week’s team, bringing in the two Gavin’s (Thomas and Henson) to replace Nathan Bonner-Evans and Shaun Connor.
‘Both Shaun and Nathan had strong matches last week, but one of the main benefits of regional rugby is that you have strength coming off the bench and are able to bring in high-quality replacements.’
Jones added: ‘We were delighted with the crowd last week and we hopefully won over a few regional rugby sceptics.
‘The Dragons will be disappointed both with losing to the Scarlets last week, and with the quality of their performance. I am sure they will want to put things right in front of a home crowd on Friday.
‘We are looking forward to the challenge and are expecting a stern test. I hope that both sides will look to play positive rugby, as we have to get away from killing the ball if we are to develop the players required for international duty.’
