The west Walians are currently 11th in the Premiership table, five points ahead of Bridgend, with three rounds remaining. But Matt Silva’s side have three games in hand over Llanelli meaning a defeat at the Brewery Field would condemn Fisher’s side would at the very least condemn them to a relegation play-off against Championship winners Pontypool.
“It’s between ourselves, Bridgend and Bedwas for the remaining place in next seasons Premiership,” said Fisher.
“One of those sides will be relegated with one facing a play-off. So when you look at it in that context then the game becomes an eight or a 10 point swing.
“It is a huge game for us with only three games remaining. We do realise that Bridgend also have got games in hand so this is literally a must win game.
“If we don’t win it will be very very difficult to stay up.”
Llanelli have named a strong side with Wales international Tom Prydie and experienced regional players Tom Price, Dan Davis and Paul Asquith all included in the starting XV having been made available by the Scarlets.
Bridgend are also stacked full of regional quality with two of the brightest prospects in Welsh rugby, half-backs Harri Morgan and Cai Evans, involved in the match day 23.
And Fisher is quietly confident his side have enough quality to get the job done.
He said: “We’ve built the last six games up as being six cup finals. So far we’ve picked up 14 out of 15 points from the last three games and we’re hoping that run of form continues this evening.
“Bridgend are a very difficult team to analyse if I’m being honest. They bring a lot of physicality, they work hard in and around the contact area and they make life very difficult for their opposition.
“They’re tough to break down and quite robust. Our discipline has to be good because Cai Evans will punish us if it isn’t.
“But I’m quietly confident we have enough quality to get a win.”
Elsewhere, Newport face a daunting task against Premiership leaders Merthyr at Rodney Parade, while Llandovery welcome cash strapped Cross Keys to Church Bank.
Neath face Bedwas at the Gnoll while Pontypridd will be looking for maximum points against Carmarthen Quins at Sardis Road. Mark Jones’ RGC1404 face Jyan Hyatt’s Aberavon while second place Cardiff will be looking to keep the pressure on Merthyr by defeating Swansea at St Helen’s.
Fifth placed Ebbw Vale will be hoping to push into the top four as they face Bargoed at Eugene Cross Park.
