The Sale scrum-half believes Scotland will have to take a leaf out of Wales’ book if they are to end their RBS 6 Nations Championship misery this weekend.
‘We’re going to have to show some of the attributes Wales had against England to even compete, they mixed it up well with England,” he said.
This is a vital match for Scotland, with two straight record defeats and a failure to score a single try against Ireland and France, Ian McGeechan and his men know they need a vastly-improved showing against Wales if they are to remain a credible threat in the tournament.
‘It is a massive game now, they are always big games between Wales and Scotland but after the last two results it’s huge.
‘We have let ourselves down in those games, not through want of trying but in the execution of things, and it’s difficult to win games if you cant get those things right,’ added Redpath.
