Head the cast of newcomers is former Merthyr prop Louis Jones who was an integral part of the Ironmen’s squad that won a hat-trick of titles.
Joining him in a new look Black & Amber front row next season will be the versatile Jamie Jeaune.
Jeune returns to Rodney Parade having previously played 31 times for Newport between 2012-14.
Equally at home at prop or hooker, he made more than 250 appearances for WRU National Champions winners Pontypool
“Jamie has an exceptional skill set for a front row forward that will fit perfectly with the way we play our rugby. He will add valuable experience to our squad and I’m sure he will lead from the front to drive our standards both on and off the field,” said Morris, who has taken over from Craig Warlow as head coach.
“Louis has been a regular performer for Merthyr for a number of seasons showing that he knows what it takes to succeed and win at the highest level year after year. He is comfortable on both sides of the scrum and is exactly what we need at Newport for the new season.”
Having lost Chay Smith to Aberavon, Newport will be pleased to add former Cardiff centre Adam Jones to their midfield armoury. Another back line recruit is scrum-half Luke Crane who has joined from Bedwas.
With Ryan James having retired, Crane, a former Dragons Academy player, should be a busy man in the new season.
The former Wales Under-18 cap spent a brief time at Newport in the 2012/13 season.
“Luke has been a consistent performer week after week in the Premiership. With his pace and tempo he will be a huge threat to many teams this season,” added Morris.
