Sweet sat out Caerphilly’s 67-14 mauling by Neath last weekend.

The Wales management team had asked Mark Ring to include Martyn Madden in the squad, in an attempt to give the Llanelli man some game time before this weekend’s Test against Ireland.

The other change in the Caerphilly side sees former Wales fullback Justin Thomas replacing Luke Richards at outside-half.

Newport, who will look to build on last weekend’s 43-27 win over Swansea, have included former Wales lock Mike Voyle in the starting line-up.

He had arranged a holiday during the RBS Six Nations, when Newport were without arranged fixtures, but he has returned from New Zealand to help Newport’s league push.

Newport have won five of their eight games, and sit in third place in the table. Caerphilly, despite two recent victories, remain at the foot of the Welsh Premiership.
