Leighton Jones’ three-time defending champions had the bonus-point in the bag by half-time at Pontypool Park thanks to a Lloyd Lewis double plus tries from Geraint Walsh and Darren Hughes. Kieran Meek converted three of them for a 26-0 lead.
Five more tries flowed after the re-start with Adam Stratton grabbing two of them, while skipper Scott Matthews, Clayton Gullis and Martin Luckwell also got on the scoresheet. Rhys Morgan’s unconverted try was scant consolation on the day for Neath in what was their first defeat since dropping into the second tier.
The win made it maximum points from three league matches so far for Pooler, although Narberth are also three from three. They have only picked up one bonus-point, however, from their hat-trick of wins.
Despite the fact their team bus broke down en route to Ystrad Rhondda, and their subsequent late arrival, the Otters went on to record an 18-8 victory. Nick Gale kicked six penalties to earn four more points on the road for the Pembrokeshire outfit, while Carl Williams went over for the only try of the match for the home side.
Bedwas are the only other side with a 100 per cent winning record so far and are a point back in second after a thumping 52-13 home win over Ystalyfera. Jordan Rees, Craig Hudd, Lewis Bowden (2), Mike Dacey, Matthew Williams, Bradley Williams and a penalty try were the Wass’ try scorers.
Luc Caines went over for newly promoted Fera’s only try and Steff Castle kicked the rest of the points for the visitors. Elsewhere, a hat-trick from Jack Silvester inspired Cardiff Met’s 31-0 home win over Beddau while 18 points from the boot of James Dixon, along with a sole try from Nathan Ace, helped Maesteg Quins beat Cross Keys 23-13.
Adam Tetley went over for Keys with Kieran Hill booting their other eight points. Meanwhile, Richard Brunton helped himself to all of Trebanos’ points in their 16-16 draw at Tata Steel.
Dalton Brown and Ryan Griffiths for Tata’s tries along with two penalties from Lloyd Rogers. Bargoed were 32-16 victors at Glamorgan Wanderers.
