Moore of the same in Indigo Group Premiership

Sean Moore

Pontypridd second row Sean Moore claimed two turnovers in the last round of action

With only four games played in the last round of the Indigo Group Premiership, it’s a case of ‘as you were’ in the six categories taking centre stage this season.

With table-topping Cardiff not playing due to an outbreak of mumps at Swansea, there was an opportunity for several players to make in-roads into the current leaders in the various sections, but two low scoring games and victories secured by Merthyr and Pontypridd against Bridgend and RGC respectively ensured the current leading contenders all kept their places at the top of the pecking order.

The only significant mover was Ponty’s second row Sean Moore who snaffled two turnovers against RGC to take his total to 20 for the season, to nudge in just one behind Cardiff’s Morgan Allen who has held a mortgage on top spot in recent weeks.

Elsewhere, Aberavon’s Chay Smith and RGC’s Thomas Hughes continue to battle it out in attack. Both made a clean break last weekend but the Wizard to clings on to top spot as leader of the line-breaks with 12, just one ahead of Hughes.
