Tucker joins Steve Jones’ side having previously featured in Wales’ top semi-professional division for Cross Keys, Newport and Cardiff.
He has now made the move to the Morganstone Brewery Field for the 2020/21 season and is Bridgend’s fifth summer signing.
Zac O’Driscoll, Joseph Gatt, Kieran Martin and Hemi Barnes have already been confirmed as new arrivals.
An alumnus of Swansea University, Tucker featured in back-to-back victories over Cardiff University in the Welsh Varsity.
He had been set for another campaign with Newport last season having rejoined Ty Morris’ side for the start of 2019/20, but injuries meant Tucker played some of last season for Cowbridge before the outbreak of Covid-19 curtained the campaign in Wales.
At just 27 his best rugby years are ahead of him and he adds to an already impressive back-row division at Bridgend.
“I’m really looking forward to the new season when we can finally get underway,” Tucker said.
“I’m excited to get back to playing after a long injury lay off over the past few seasons and I’ll be working hard to get back to my best.
“Signing for Bridgend was an easy decision. I feel we have recruited well for the upcoming season and I’m sure we can put in a good challenge in the league when it starts up.”
Bridgend forwards coach Alun Wyn Davies added: “It’s great to finally get the signing of Reuben over the line and to get him on board.
“He’s a player we have had a close eye on for some time and it’s great to have him back in the Premiership.
“Those of you that have seen Reuben play against Bridgend will know he’s an uncompromising, physical lad and he’ll be a good addition to the defence culture we’re trying to build at the club.
“His character and experience will be a welcome voice on and off the pitch.”
