Tickets have been put on public sale in both England and Wales and demand is expected to be high over the coming weeks, so much so, that the WRU has nominated a second ticket hotline (ticketmaster: 0161 3853214) to deal with calls.
The match against World Cup favourites England has sold 40,000 tickets already with a month still to go and Scotland’s visit to the Millennium Stadium is also selling well, already at the 15,000 mark.
And Wales’ match against Romania at Wrexham is so affordable, a family of four could attend for £12, that a sell out in North Wales is highly possible.
‘There will be further sales through the RFU in England to add to the total for our match against the World’s top side at the Millennium Stadium,’ said WRU group commercial manager Gwyn Thomas.
‘And we are expecting a high demand from fans around Britain through the hotlines for both matches at Millennium Stadium, once the message gets out that tickets are available on public sale.’
All of the bargain price £10 tickets, specifically targeted at school children, have sold out for the England game – the price range remaining is £30, £25 and £15.
The same range applies to the Scotland match, although there are £10 tickets left for that match and a family of four can attend on a special ticket for just £25. The Romania match in Wrexham is selling at £15, £10, £6 and £5 (terrace) for adults and just £2 and £1 (terrace) for under-16s.
The new ticket hotline, 0161 3853214 is fully functional alongside the existing line into the Millennium Stadium, 08705 582 582 and also offers tickets to the UEFA Cup first round, second leg tie between Manchester City and Mid Wales club TNS. Tickets can also be bought online at www.wru.co.uk or from the Millennium Stadium ticket office at 98 St Mary Street, Cardiff.
