Glamorgan Wanderers will host Ystrad Rhondda in the only game being played in the WRU Championship Cup this weekend.

The Wanderers got their season off to a flying start with a good win over Cardiff Met (25-21) and will be looking to take over at the top in Group 2 from the students, who recovered to beat Beddau (47-22) last weekend.

Abergavenny will be looking to make it three from three in the WRU Plate competition when they head to Ynysddu in District A1. They have posted 31 points in their previous three games and will be hoping to add the scalp of their hosts to those of Blackwood and Blaenavon from their previous outings.

Pontypool United will be hoping to hold onto the top spot in District A4 when they hot Newbridge. Taylwain, who beat Newbridge in their opening contest, are also looking to make it two from two at Risca.

St Joseph’s are on the charge in District B1 having already posted big wins over St Peter’s (26-8) and Rhiwbina (50-0). They host Rumney, who beat Rhiwbina 26-20 in their first outing, while Llanishen entertain the Squirrels this weekend.

Cowbridge get their season underway in District B2, travelling to Barry, while in District C1 Aberdare welcome Abercynon and Abercwmboi head to Treharris seeking their first win of the season. Llantwit Fardre, who play Llantrisant, and Ynysybwl, who meet Gilfach Goch, both get their campaigns underway at home in District C2.

In District C3, Porth Harlequins   are at home against Cambrian Welfare, while in C4 Nelson host Penallta and Senghenydd entertain Caerphilly in two big local derbies. Bedlinog travel to Builth Wells for the only game in C5.

Aberavon Quins will go ahead of Heol y Cyw in District D1 if they can use home advantage to good effect in their second outing of the campaign, while in D2 Tondu welcome Bridgend Athletic. In District J1, Bala get their season underway at Dolgellau.

Two unbeaten teams clash in the top game in District E1 as Ystradgynlias chase a third successive win when they host Morriston at the Welfare Ground. Resolven entertain Mumbles in the other game in that section.

There are also games across the districts in the Bowl and Shield competitions.
