Newport to honour more ‘100 Club’ members

Great names from the past, including Welsh international David Waters, and club stalwarts Roger Powell and Keith James, will be among 30-40 Newport centurions who will become the latest members of the club’s ‘100 Club’ at a special social event on Friday, 12 November.

Second row ‘Muddy’ Waters made an incredible 702 appearances over 22 seasons for the Black & Ambers between 1974-1996. Wales B caps Powell and James played 341 and 282 times respectively for the club over 14 seasons.

Current hooker Henry Palmer, who has helped his side top the Indigo Group Premiership in the early part of this season, will also be among the players receiving their caps in the Tony Brown Suite at Rodney Parade.

He reached three-figures last season and will be hoping to make his 112th appearance the next day against RGC at Spytty Park (5.30pm) kick off

All fans are welcome to attend this free-of-charge event. The presentations, and a few speeches, will be conducted by Bryn Meredith and Brian Jones.
