As part of improving the women’s game throughout the region, the Dragons are pleased to put on the event which will take place at Newport High School starting at 6pm. There will be a brief meeting before the session itself starts at 6.30pm.

Players of all levels of ability are welcome, along with any coaches that wish to attend. The session will focus on specific rugby skills which aim to improve the skill level of women’s players in the region. These include passing, continuity, position specific skills and rugby specific fitness.

“This is a one-off event but we are hoping to carry it on in the future and make it a regular part of the regional programme,” said Gwesyn Price-Jones, Women’s and Girls Development Officer for the Dragons region.

“It is great opportunity for the clubs in the region to come together and start the building process of making Gwent the strongest women’s region.”

Croesyceiliog Ladies, Penallta Miner Birds, Blaenau Gwent Ladies and Blackwood Ladies are just four of the teams attending the event while teams from outside of the Dragons region are also welcome.

There is parking at the rear of the school for those who need it.

For more information on the event contact Gwesyn Price-Jones on 07812 590909.
