But Dale McIntosh’s side face the prospect of playing at a ground where they are yet to win in the semi professional era.

The trip to Carmarthen will throw up its unique challenges for the Pontypridd squad, not least a clash between clubs currently placed third and fourth in the table.

In an attempt to gain their first victory away to the Quins, Ponty again make numerous changes to the line up that secured a bonus point home win over Bedwas last time out.

Winger Owen Jenkins returns from injury to play outside a new centre pairing of Adam Thomas and Dafydd Lockyer. It will be case of mix and match in the back row where the experienced pair of Wayne O’Connor and Dan Godfrey return with Rhys Shellard switching from the open side to blind side flank.

Still absent for Ponty are wing Chris Clayton, fly half Simon Humberstone and prop Chris Phillips with back, groin and hamstring injuries respectively.
