Over 30 coaches attended and all brought along a player to work and enjoyed learning the techniques of how to throw the ball into a lineout.

The event entitled ‘Hooked on Throwing’ developed the coaches understanding of the principles of the throw in and how to use these principles with a child centred approach.

The evening was delivered by WRU and Blues Player Development Officer Duane Goodfield and assisted by Blues hooker Kristian Dacey.

Terry Gee of Rumney RFC who attended the evening said of the event: “ Both myself and my player thought the evening was hugely beneficial. I really enjoyed how the session was broken down into simple key points which I can use back at my club with the other hookers.”

Jon Evans WRU and Blues Coach Development Officer added: “My thanks go to all those coaches and players who attended the event.

“I hope that you were able to take some of the information that Duane presented so expertly and hope to see you all on the next one in the New Year.

“Please could I also express my gratitude to Cyfarthfa High School for the use of their facilities.”
