Greenwood: History is irrelevant

England centre Will Greenwood says he needed no forewarning of Wales’ current form in order to motivate himself for the must-win clash.

“Past history’s irrelevant. They’re always fantastic games…and how good was Wales on Sunday? Absolutely fantastic.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have played some quality sides over the past three or four years,” said Greenwood.

“But the England-Wales game will always be special for me as it was my first ever victory in an England shirt, my first ever try and first hat-trick.

“I think it’s great for the World Cup the way the home nations are performing and I wouldn’t be anywhere else in the world at the moment.”

And Greenwood warns England will not be complacent against Wales.

“A team captained by Martin Johnson…the word complacency just doesn’t enter the vocabulary,” he added.
