Beddau missed out on scoring a century after scuffing a late conversion as Treorchy refused to give up. At 98-0 with seconds remaining, Beddau’s Rhys Jenkins went for tenth conversion of the match from right in front of the posts. But Treorchy still had the energy to prevent their local rivals from reaching the milestone by charging down his effort.
Third-placed Narberth conceded that fourth-placed Llangennech thoroughly deserved the away victory by 35-19 at the Lewis Lloyd Ground. Centre Mark Bowen had a splendid match and scored a try in both halves to take his account to 20.

Rumney gained a useful 39-6 win over Tredegar with youlg lock Mike Kelly grabbing two more tries to show why he won the Lloyds TSB award forJanuary’s best player. Alec McIntyre’s debut as a replacement saw him join his cousins, Stuart and Ian, in the second half.

Matthew Entwhistle created a new club record with 41 of Croesyceiliog’s points in their 118-0 rout of visitors Penygraig. He crossed for three of their 18 tries and slotted over 13 conversions as the Cockerels ran riot over a plucky Penygraig outfit.
In the only other game in the East, Llantwit Fardre dented Llantrisant’s slim promotion hopes with a 33-9 victory as James Thomas claimed a try double and former Wales lock Greg Prosser was also amongst the try-scorers.
Only three games survived the frozen pitches in West but Tonmawr, despite having a forward red-carded, took full advantage to move further ahead at the top of the table following a narrow 12-10 victory at Cwmavon. Vardre improved their lowly position with a well-deserved 20-15 success over
Wauinarlwydd and Felinfoel pounded Aberavon Quins by 62-15.
