The Steelmen were nothing short of outstanding as they recorded arguably the result of the season to date over second in the table Aberavon.  With four wins out of their seven games, and two of the three defeats coming on the road by a point at Cardiff and two points at Bridgend, the Steelmen have already put themselves in contention for the title of most improved team of the season.

They face a Carmarthen Quins side tonight who have only won once this season and are languishing near the bottom of the table. And head coach Strange has warned his side not to underestimate the West Walians but is confident they will come out on top.

“It was a really pleasing win at Aberavon and an invaluable exercise in building team spirit and belief,” said Strange. “Aberavon started the season really well, but we stood our ground and came out on top.

“We’ve tried to get everyone going in the right direction this season and we have a clear way of playing. I’m happy with the reaction I’ve had from the players so far and our efforts are built on supporting them in every way we can.

“We’ve asked for total commitment from them and they have given us that. What you get from young players is energy and enthusiasm. They have no baggage and they just want to get better.

“It’s my job to ensure they improve. All my focus is on getting the best out of the team by simply focusing on what we do, rather than what any other team does.”

Elsewhere tonight, Cardiff will be hoping to solidify their position at the top of the Premiership table when they host an ever-improving Swansea side at the Arms Park. The Blue & Blacks are unbeaten this season posting a perfect record of seven from seven.

The Whites currently lie in seventh but have been steadily improving, however they are firm underdogs against Cardiff.
