Big Crowd For Hansen Send Off

Wales coach Steve Hansen can expect a huge send-off when he takes charge of the national team for the last time in the RBS Six Nations Championship clash with Italy at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday (Kick-off 2.00pm). More than 63,700 tickets have already been sold for the game, which will be a record gate for a game against Italy. Following on from their gallant performance against World Champions England at Twickenham last weekend, the Welsh Rugby Union are expecting a last minute rush for the final 10,000 tickets.

‘The support we had from the Welsh contingent at Twickenham was fantastic and it would be great to end the championship in front of a full house against Italy at the Millennium Stadium,’ said Wales Skipper Colin Charvis.
‘We will be looking for an exciting end to what has been an exciting championship for the players.’

After last season’s first RBS Six Nations whitewash, Charvis will be hoping to lead his side to a second success to claim fourth place in the Championship Table – a potential improvement of two places on last season.

An ever improving Italian side should prove stern opposition, having taken out the Scots in Rome. Wales will be especially wary after a close run match in the Rugby World Cup, and will also want to banish Six Nations memories of last season’s opening day onslaught in Rome.
