Wing Sam Jones was the star of the show for Brecon as he ran in four of the nine tries to carry off the man of the match award. Outside half Jake Newman kicked 13 points to complete the rout, with Dion McIntosh also chipping in with two conversions.
Narberth were forced to come from behind at Bonymaen, where they trailed 13-5 at the break. A second half revival saw the Otters score 17 points without reply after the break to run out 22-13 victors to hang onto their unbeaten record.
First half tries from Cameron Salter and Laurence Thomas gave Bonymaen the lead, but Geraint Williams hit back to make it 13-5. Then second half scores from Roy Osborn and Lewys Gibby carried the visitors to victory.
Crymych had two tries from hooker Lee Griffiths to thank for their 33-14 bonus-point win over Trebanos. Leading 16-7 at the break, they finally picked up their fourth try when Eilir Griffiths unlocked the vistors defence late in the game.
Dunvant had an easier time of it at Tata Steel, where they piled on the points to win 53-17. Newcastle Emlyn outscored their hosts Maesteg Quins by three tries to one to leave with a 27-26 triumph.
In the Championship East, Rumney went across Cardiff to beat Glamorgan Wanderers 19-11 at the Memorial Ground. It was the third weekend in a row the Wanderers had been beaten in local derbies, having gone down 31-10 at St Peter’s the previous weekend and been pipped 31-29 at home against Cardiff Met on the opening day of the season.
Hooker Hugo Souto crossed twice for Rumney and skipper Lewis Hill got their other try. Jake Hillman added two conversions.
Newbridge lost their unbeaten record in an explosive game of 81 points against the free-flowing students of Cardiff Met. The home side were never ahead, although they got close before going down 41-40.
Josh Carrington scored two of the six tries for the students and Sam Berry converted four of them and also kicked a penalty. Full back Robbie Turley replied with one of Newbridge’s six tries and he also added four conversions.
