Harrison James, Mackenzie Martin and Lucas de la Rua have all graduated from the CAVC sides of the last two season to win Wales U20 caps, while Saul Hurley and Scott Delnovo have played for Wales U18 and are currently turning out for Aberavon in the Indigo Premiership.
The opening game in their defence of the title will be the first they have played without Martyn Fowler at the helm. He has agreed to step down from his post as director of rugby and has been replaced on a temporary basis by former Wales Women and Scarlets attack coach Richard Whiffin.
Luke Caple will lead the champions this season in Conference A. Each team will play the other seven sides once and then there will be play-off matches to determine the winner.
Last season’s runners-up Coleg Sir Gar will be seeking their first title in a number of years and will be seeking inspiration from their five former players who are playing with Wales at the Rugby World Cup in France. They host Whitchurch HS in round one.
Among them is Wales co-captain Jac Morgan, who also played trough the age grades at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, who are one of three new teams in Conference B. They have already received a good luck message from France from Morgan and they host their campaign at Newport HS.
The other new boys are Christ College Brecon, who head to Gower College, while former Welsh Schools U18 champions Ysgol Ystalyfera launch their campaign at Bridgend College.
