Lloyd dethrones Jarvis as leading points scorer in Indigo Prem

After 14 rounds of action, Lloyd now finds himself top of the pile, just one point ahead of Jarvis, with 129 points, although Pooler’s No 10 has a slightly better overall kicking percentage rate with 83% compared to Lloyd’s 74%.

Things are certainly hotting up near the top of the points table, as Pontypridd’s Josh Phillips has quietly gone about his business and he is now only two points behind Lloyd in third place.

Cardiff youngster Harrison James is the fourth player to reach the magical century mark and sits in fourth place with 108 points while Bridgend’s Luke Price is most likely to be the next player to reach the milestone as he is currently in fifth place with 93 points.

It’s also proving a neck and neck race in the try scoring charts with Newport winger Oli Andrew now joining teammate Lloyd Lewis and Ebbw Vale’s Rhys Francis as the leading try scorer with seven treis. Andrew has been on fire in recent games, crossing four times in his last two games.

There were some notable performances in losing causes in the latest round. Aberavon’s Joe Gage made 17 attacking carries against Neath but it all proved in vain with the Welsh All Blacks claiming their first win of the season.

Pontypridd’s Cai James made an astonishing 25 tackles against Cardiff with the home side eventually running away with the victory after Ponty were reduced to 13 men.
