Welsh legend Scott Quinnell coached the squad of mixed abilities for a period of three months before they faced England in the climax of the series in World Rugby’s new T1 version of the game – which is a simplified form of rugby which is aimed to expand the appeal of the sport worldwide.

Taking part in the series was a valuable and emotional experience for the squad members as Lucy from Pontypridd testifies; “We’ve all become really good friends during the series. It’s been such a valuable and life-changing experience for us all.”

Scott Quinnell added: “It’s been a privilege to see the squad members growing as individuals as well as rugby players. I’m truly hopeful that they will carry their new found confidence into their daily lives.

“I’m hugely proud of every single member of the ‘Stryd i’r Sgrym’ class of 2024.”

The ‘Stryd i’r Sgrym’ series – which includes subtitles can be viewed on S4C’s CLIC on demand service or on the i-player platform.
