Winger Nathan Williams scored his fifth try of the season as Cross Keys embarrassed defending champions Newport at Pandy Park, running in four tries in the 32-20 victory, while Neath came up with a hard-fought 20-16 win over Pontypridd at Sardis Road, securing victory thanks to clever play by fly half James Hook.

Bridgend beat off Cardiff 31-16, with fly-half Gareth David scoring a try and kicking goals in a one-sided affair at the Brewery Field and Aberavon just sneaked home 22-21 at Ebbw Vale after leading 19-8 at halftime thanks to three tries – including a penalty try – but needed a Jamies Davies penalty goal to keep their noses in front.

Llanell’s winning form continued with their sixth victory of the season – 13-9 at Pontypool. Lock Bryn Griffiths scored the only match of the game in the second half to break a 6-6 deadlock at the break. Pooler fly-half Sam Mills slotted three penalty goals but couldn’t prevent his side from suffering their sixth loss of the season.

Caerphilly scored 5-4 on tries at Swansea, but still had a 33-40 loss. Mark Ring’s side are looking for their first win of the season after seven matches.

Carmarthen Quins took an hour to pull clear at Llanharan by 44-25 and Llandovery beat Newbridge 27-16, with the loser’s try-scorer Steve Evans being sent off for illegal use of the boot.
