BLUES STILL A BIG THREAT – FANOLUA

BLUES STILL A BIG THREAT – FANOLUA

Gloucester and Stade Français Paris could meet in a Pool 6 winner-takes-all showdown at Kingsholm in January – but the West Country club know they have to keep the pressure on the French champions all the way by beating Cardiff Blues on Saturday and then winning in Belfast in the New Year.

Fanolua, Gloucester’s Samoan Centre grabbed two tries in the Heineken Cup Round 3 clash and knows what to expect at Cardiff Arms Park for the return pool game.

“Cardiff is going to be a hell of a place to play, and we know it’s going to be a tough game,” he said. “We have got work to do on our set piece plays this week, and the contact area was scrappy on Saturday. They are things we’ve got to concentrate on.

“We knew Cardiff would come out fired up at the weekend, and Saturday isn’t going to be any different, especially with them being on home territory.

“The main aim was to get a win, we did that, and now we have to get another one in Wales.”
