MILLENNIUM STADIUM SCHOOL PARTY A SELL-OUT AGAIN
Having seen the initial 4400 tickets snapped up very quickly, the event organisers appealed to the local authorities to increase the capacity to 5,000. The permission for the extra 600 tickets was granted today by officials from the City and County of Cardiff Council and South Wales Police. But having put the extra tickets on sale at lunchtime, they were sold out within a matter of hours.
“It was great news for us to be able to offer 600 more tickets because we had had so many people want to join what will be Wales’ biggest New Year’s Eve party. In only its second year, this event has become one of the most popular in the whole of the UK for rigning in the new year,” said Millennium Stadium general manager Paul Sergeant. “I would like to thank the local authority and the Police for doing all they could to enable us to meet as much of that demand as possible, especially as all the profits from the event are being sent to the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund.
“Last year’s inaugural event set a benchmark for us and, having learned many lessons, we believe our second attempt will ensure our party goers will have an even better time as we move into 2005.”
