FIVE MORE JOIN TSUNAMI RELIEF CARDIFF

Welsh diva Charlotte Church has confirmed she will perform in the January 22nd Millennium Stadium gig where all profits will go to victims of the tsunami disaster.

Keane, Liberty X, Craig David and Heather Small have also been lined up to perform, joining Badly Drawn Boy, Eric Clapton with Jools Holland and The Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Embrace, Feeder, Aled Jones and Katherine Jenkins, Lemar, The Manic Street Preachers and Snow Patrol. More acts will be unveiled later this week.

“We’re thrilled that Charlotte is taking part in the event,” said Paul Sergeant, Millennium Stadium General Manager. “With such a fantastic line up now confirmed, and with more bands to come, it is now guaranteed to be a night to remember and we fully expect to reach our target of raising £1 million for the victims of the tsunami”.

Sergeant added: “We have already spoken about the tremendous offers of help – from local bands to offers of equipment, kit and people wanting to lend a hand. We are very grateful for all these offers. I would like to say however that we have reached a saturation point and have now satisfied the vast majority of our requirements so I must ask people to please stop calling. If we do find we need anything else we will make an appeal.”

A new website has been set up by the Millennium Stadium which will provide information on every aspect of the event from artistes to transport, parking and general concert details.
