Whitland kept up their promotion hopes by smashing Llangennech 36-3 but at the other end of the table, bottom club Brynmawr fell 46-12 at home to Fleur de Lys.
In the only other match played, Carmarthen Athletic and Narberth shared six tries, but the Athletic won 31-24 thanks to 16 points from the boot of Dan Jones.
DIVISION 2
Ystrad Rhondda took their lead at the top of the East to nine points with seven matches remaining after a 15-0 win at Hirwaun, but the fight is on for the second promotion spot between Newport Saracens, Rumney, Abercynon and Llantwit Fardre, who all have 36 points.
In the West, Waunarlwydd and Cwmllynfell look good bets for promotion, but Cwmllynfell’s 41-22 win over Dunvant puts them only six points behind Waunarlwydd with two games in hand. They yet have to meet in a rearranged game at Cwmllynfell.
Best wins came from Merthyr, by 17-13 at Newport Saracens in the East, and bottom club Tondu, who defeated Cwmavon 22-20 in the West.
DIVISION 3
Bargoed are still unbeaten in the East with 19 wins and a draw and six games remaining after a good 30-3 win at New Tredegar, but second-placed Pill Harriers fell at Blaina and Rhymney bounced to third after defeating Abergavenny.
Rhydyfelin ganied their 18th straight win in the South-East by turning back useful Ruthin 29-13, though Mountain Ash won at Pontycymmer and the title could be settled when the top two meet at the Mount on April 16.
Loughor are top dogs in the West and still have two games in hand and a five-point lead over Gorseinon with Penclawdd an Aberystwyth still in the chase.
In the South-West, Maesteg Quins gained the points at Alltwen and are ix ahead of Seven Sisters with nine to play though Aberavon Quins and Nantyffyllon are still flat out with Vardre moving up after a 67-0 win over Brynamman.
DIVISION 4
Bedlinog’s 20-12 win at Fairwater threw the South-East division open as Aberdare’s 86-7 win at Pontyclun took them to top and Penarth came into contention after defeating Llanfaff North 40-15.
Resolven sealed promotion in the South-West, but Tonna still need one more win to join them before fighting out the title spot. In the orth, Llangefni’s 22-9 win over Mold virtually assure them of the title, though they may need three wins in their last five matches.
Both Pontllanfraith and Trinant at the top of the East were left without matches and the 47-17 win by Tredegar Ironsides over Oakdale left the Irons with a chance of promotion. In the West, Amman Utd lead Cefneithin and Laugharne by eight points after only Cefneithin dropped points by drawing 17-17 away to Fishguard.
DIVISION 5
Bala go to Welshpool on Saturday knowing that a draw will be enough to give them the North title with a match in hand over Bethesda. Their 18-10 weekend win over Llanidloes has left the title a certainty for them.
Nantyglo gained a hard-earned 15-10 win over Bettws in the East to register a 19th successive three-pointer and they have three games to go to keep their unbeaten tag, while Abertillery BG’s defeat by Blaenavon blew their chances of promotion.
Pembroke and New Dock Stars are still fighting out the West title and in the South-West, Abercrave are running out of games with Birchgrove and Glyncorrwg chasing hard. South-East leaders are Cilfynydd and Cefn Coed with 45 points with South Wales, Porth and Penallta in the hunt, but Penallta went to Waterton Cross and defeated the Police by 12-5.
