FIFTH CELTIC LEAGUE SEASON SET TO BEGIN
The Scarlets begin their campaign on Friday at home against the Edinburgh Gunners. The Scarlets won two out of their three pre-season friendlies and are looking to build on their place in the final of the Celtic Cup last season. Their Celtic League form isn’t as good, as they lost their last three games against Leinster, Glasgow and Ulster.
The Dragons start their campaign away to Glasgow Warriors on Friday, hot on the heels of an impressive 20-14 win against Bath at Rodney Parade. The Dragons play their first home game of the season against Ulster on Saturday, September 24.
The Blues begin their League campaign away to Connacht on Saturday after a narrow 24-22 loss to Bristol in their final pre-season hitout. The Blues are in an optimistic mood following the opening of their new training facilities near Hensol Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan, as well as signing the likes of former All Black Xavier Rush and Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips. The Blues play their first home game of the season on Friday, September 9, against Ulster.
The Ospreys begin their defence of their League on Sunday at home to Leinster. The Ospreys will be hoping for another successful season despite losing 18-10 in a closely fought match at the New Stadium against London Wasps.
