Cardiff Schools and Rhondda Schools are no strangers in the Dewar Shield final, having played each other on five previous occasions in the showpiece event, but it was Cardiff who claimed victory in the 2022 final with a 20-8 triumph to claim the huge trophy for a 27th time.
