Wru Looking For Full-time Team Manager

The Welsh Rugby Union are advertising for a full-time Team Manager for the Wales XV.
Having had part-time appointments in the past, with former Welsh internationals Robert Norster, Geoff Evans, David Pickering and Alan Phillips filling the role of manager, the Union are now seeking a full-time professional for the leading role.
The advert for the new post, which is published in the Western Mail on Friday, 12 July, reads as follows:

“The Welsh Rugby Union is seekign to appoint a Full Time Team Manager for the Wales National Squad. The successful applicant will be a proven manager with excellent man management and interpersonal skills. He/She will be comfortable in dealing with the Media and also have an understanding of the pressures that surround the Wales XV and its whole management team. A background in the game is desirable but not essential, as is a competency in IT skills.”

Former Cardiff, Wales and British Lions hooker Alan Phillips is the current team manager, a role he has filled on a part-time basis since June 2001. He is also a member of the WRU general committee.
The coaching team for the Wales XV is headed by national coach Steve Hansen. He has Scott Johnson (skills), Clive Griffiths (defense) and Andrew Hoare (fitness) backing him up.
