Though back row forward Chris Davies of Brynteg Comp is out with a bad knee injury, the squad includes six of those who represented Wales at last year’s junior world championship in Italy.

Team manager Cledwyn Edwards said: “There are plenty of quality players from last year’s Welsh Schools and Youth XV’s, but the four fixtures are far harder than last year’s tour squad faced.

“In just 10 days we play Natal,Northern Transvaal Und-19’s, SA Schools Academy and SA Schools, the last two coming as curtain-raisers to Tri-Nations matches against New Zealand and Australia.”
