Ebbw Vale Cut Four Players From Squad

Ebbw Vale Cut Four Players From Squad

Former Welsh international David Weatherley is one of four players Ebbw
Vale have cut from their playing squad for next season.
The move, in response to the club’s financial crisis, comes a few days after the Steelmen announced they would be axing seven administratvie staff.
The versatile Weatherley, who won his only cap against Zimbabwe four years ago, has been released from his contract with Ebbw Vale assisting him to find a new club.
Wing Andrew Wagstaff has transferred to Newport and prop Andrew Clatworthy
has joined Aberavon.
In addition, the Samoan international back row forward Daniel Ferani will not now be taking up his option to join the Gwent club.
“The small number of players who have left the club as a result of the recent crisis is a direct reflection of the Board’s determination to maintain a highly competitive and motivated squad,” said a club spokesman.
