Season Hotting Up For Swansea

With the Celtic League qualification picture becoming clearer, and the Heineken Cup just around the corner, the season is really hotting up.

And battling Swansea face three big games in three weeks that could make or break their season.

“This is the start of an important three weeks for the club and we face three tough games,” Swansea’s Australian coach John Connolly admitted.
On Friday, Swansea travel to Llanelli in the Celtic league.

The match is easily the biggest game of the year so far for both sides – defeat would almost certainly signal the end of their Celtic League aspirations.

Eight days later Montferrand away are Swansea’s first opponents in the Heineken Cup.

And it doesn’t get any easier for captain Colin Charvis and his men – the following week St Helens will shake when reigning Celtic League Champions Leinster defend their crown in a make-or-break tie.

Connolly says Friday’s trip to Stradey Park is excellent preparation for Swansea’s Heineken Cup campaign.

“I think going to somewhere like Stradey is good, as long as we get through the game without picking up any injuries.”

Swansea just edged perennial Celtic League losers Caerphilly 37-32 last weekend, while Llanelli let a lead slip away in Edinburgh, going down 38-14.
