Pontypool will take their unbeaten record to Cardiff on Saturday when they meet a Glamorgan Wanderers side who won well at Llandovery last week. Outside half Byron Hayward reached exactly 100 points in just six matches last Saturday – he missed one match with injury – and will spearhead the Pontypool challenge, though skipper Mark Jones is out with a broken arm.Narberth against Aberavon is certainly the match of the day with the Otters facing their biggest challenge for many seasons at the Lewis Lloyd Ground, though the Wizards have lost two matches.Carmarthen Quins play their fifth home match in succession as they face a fast improving Whitland side and Bonymaen’s visit to Newbridge will be an interesting match with both sides keen to impress. Rumney and Tereorchy are without a win and the Cardiff-based Rumney go to Blackwood, who are in indifferent form, while the Zebras are home at last, meeting a strong Bedwas side.Llanharan, under new coach Dennis john, are at home to Tondu, while Cross Keys are on a good run and are at Pandy Park against Llandovery – always dangerous opponents.Beddau will face a strong challenge from Tredegar with the Johnston brothers being strong motivators as coaches for the Gwent club.
