Gibbs And Taylor In Fitness Race

Swansea skipper Scott Gibbs has undergone an operation on his knee and is joining fellow Wales and Lions centre Mark Taylor in racing to be fit to face Bristol Shoguns in the third round of the Heineken Cup on Saturday, 7 December (kick-off 3.00 local time).

“Scott had his knee cleaned out while the autumn international matches were being played and we are hoping he will be back in time to face Bristol at St Helen’s,” said Swansea coach John Connolly.

“There is also a chance that Mark Taylor might be fit to return with him in that game after recovering from the knee injury he picked up against Leinster Lions. If he doesn’t make the first game then he should be available for the return match at the Memorial Ground the following weekend.”

Swansea are still without Wales full back Kevin Morgan, who injured his shoulder last month. He is set to return late in December.
