Two of Wales‘ leading coaches go head-to-head in the mouth-watering clash between Pontypridd and Neath at a packed Sardis Road on Friday night.

Pontypridd’s Lynn Howells hosts the Welsh All Blacks and their coach Lyn Jones in the sudden-death clash between arguably Wales‘ leading two teams on current form.

And Howells has fired the first shot of the buildup, saying Neath had to go into the match as favourites.

“We had seven boys in the Welsh squad and Neath had one. That’s good for Neath – Lyn’s had a settled squad in training to fix the things going wrong and polish the things going right.

“Having said that, I’m pleased for our boys who made the national squad – but it will be good to get them back.”

Pontypridd lock Rob Sidoli and centre Sonny Parker had a heavy autumn Test series, but Howells says it would have done them the world of good. “Sonny, in particular, played well out of position at inside centre, so that can only be good for the club.”

The match-up of the game could be Sidoli against veteran Wales lock Gareth Llewellyn – team-mates only last weekend.
