Rob Appleyard is back in the Cardiff side to face Northampton Saints in Round 3 of the Heineken Cup at Franklin’s Gardens on Saturday.

Coach Dai Young has made two changes from the side that squeezed past Edinburgh Rugby in last weeks Celtic League quarter-final.

Both changes are in the pack. Appleyard has recovered from the illness that forced him to withdraw from the squad that travelled to Scotland, last week.and will play at blindside flanker with Dan Baugh reverting to No.8.

And Adam Jones packs down alongside Namibian Heino Senekal in the second row.

Young has again selected himself in the front row, alongside Peter Rogers and hooker Andrew Lewis.

Anthony Sullivan and Chris Stamatakis are the new faces on the replacements’ bench.

European Rugby Cup Ltd have also announced a change in the match referee with Iain Ramage replacing fellow Scot Rob Dickson.
