Celtic League Final Coming To The Millennium Stadium

Celtic League Final Coming To The Millennium Stadium

The Celtic League Final 2002/03 will be held at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on February 1, 2003 and televised live throughout the UK and Ireland by BBC Grandstand and TG4.
The final will be a Welsh/Irish affair, Munster hosting Ulster in the first semi-final on Friday 3 January, followed by Neath and Cardiff clashing at The Gnoll the following day.
“After last year and such a marvellous final in Dublin, the Celtic League Association felt this season the final would be staged at either Murrayfield or the Millennium Stadium,” said Bill Watson the Celtic League chairman.
“Now, with a Welsh team guaranteed a place in the final, that decision has been made for us.
“We are delighted to be going to this great stadium and confident of a huge increase on last year’s crowd – all the signs point to it being well in excess of 30 000 and, hopefully, pushing 40 000.
“The final will be televised live by both BBC Grandstand and TG4, giving our showpiece game fantastic exposure in the UK and Ireland.”
