Celtic League Semi-final

Injury concerns have delayed the naming of the Neath team to face Cardiff in the Celtic League semi-final at the Gnoll on Saturday night.

Coach Lyn Jones is waiting until Thursday to name his side, with question marks hanging over key players Gareth Llewellyn (flu), Dave Tiueti (ribs), Brett Sinkinson (knee), Barry Williams (ribs), James Storey (shoulder), Nathan Bonner-Evans (hip) and Lee Jarvis (ribs). However, all seven are expected to start against Cardiff.

In contrast, the Blue and Blacks have few injury problems and have been able to name one of their strongest sides of the season.

Only backrower Rob Appleyard (neck) and Peter Rogers (banned) are unavailable from the squad Dai Young has fielded in recent weeks.

“We’re looking forward to the game,” Cardiff assistant coach Geraint John said.

“We’re very pleased all our players have come through today’s training injury-free. We had a few scares but they’ve all come through well.”
