Newport Make Two Changes For Trip To Vale

Newport Rugby head coach Leigh Jones has made two changes to the side which beat Pontypridd last weekend for the trip to his old club Ebbw Vale on Saturday night (kick-off 5.30pm).
Alex Cadwallader, a second half replacement for two try hero Matt Mostyn against Ponty, takes over from Luke Nabaro on the left wing, while Wales international Chris Anthony starts in the front row ahead of former Springbok tight head Adrian Garvey.
Newport will be seeking their fourth win in five games this year when they travel to Eugene Cross Park having won their last two matches at Rodney Parade, against Edinburgh in the Heineken Cup and Pontypridd in the Welsh Premiership.
Newport lead Ebbw Vale 10-6 in league meetings and have done the double over their Gwent neighbours in the last two seasons. Ebbw Vale lead 5-3 in league meetings at Eugene Cross Park.
“The last two games have given the players some much needed confidence, but we will be paying due respect to Ebbw Vale this week as we build towards what is another vital game for us,” said Jones.
“Ebbw Vale almost toppled Neath at home last weekend and already have home wins over Caerphilly, Swansea, Llanelli, Montauban and Pau. Richard Hill and I know the set-up very well at Eugene Cross Park and we know we face a tough trip this weekend.”
Victory for Newport would allow them to overtake Ebbw Vale in the Welsh Premiership table.
