Injury Problems Plague Wales

Wales may put back the announcement of their team to face England on Saturday by 24 hours as they assess the injury situation of their battered squad.

Wing Mark Jones and lock Steve Williams are the main causes for concern though Steve Hansen’s biggest job of the week will be to restore pride after the defeat in Rome.

Llanelli wing Jones needs a couple of days off after receiving a bang in the face.

‘It was a nasty blow and I am waiting on medical advice while taking a few days off,’ he said.

‘I remember chipping the ball over a couple of Italian players and then it all went black.

‘I am very sore around the mouth and back of my head but it is getting better.’

Williams is also facing a race against time to be included in the squad for Saturday after suffering back trouble and Hansen will have his work cut out in naming 15 players up for the task of blunting the English challenge.
