Millennium Stadium bosses have confirmed the roof will be wide open, allowing fans to enjoy Wales‘ match against the Barbarians in glorious sunshine.

And, with weather forecasters predicting a 23 degree heat-wave across Cardiff, temperatures should be soaring inside the Stadium.

Fans are expected to flood into the ground encouraged by the weather and the chance to sample some top quality rugby in the relaxing surroundings of Wales‘ world class national ground.

“I can’t think of a better way to spend the day than to sample the food and drink on offer in the Stadium and sit back and watch what is traditionally one of the most exciting matches of the season,” said Millennium Stadium manager Paul Sergeant.

“The Stadium usually turns into a bit of a suntrap when the summer weather arrives and we should have the conditions to rival any beach in Wales.

“Queues are expected at our ticket booths all day so fans should arrive as early as possible if they don’t already have a ticket.

“And, with 20,000 already gone, the Millennium Stadium is well on the way to surpassing the attendance at the Barbarians’ second Tour match in Scotland.”

The BaaBaas are going for a Lloyds TSB Challenge Tour Grand Slam after winning at Murrayfield in front of 27,000 and beating England last weekend in front of 66,000.

And the Welsh Rugby Union are hoping the weather will be their secret weapon in persuading fans to turn out this afternoon and match those gates.

Queues are expected so get here early

Tickets will be available from Booths at Gates 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 tomorrow as well as the ticket office at 98 St Mary Street. Prices are just £20, £10 and £5 concession with tickets for a family of four available at £25.
