Kylie, who also represents Wales as a player, has been in Wales for 7 years since moving from New Zealand. As well as her WRU duties, Kylie lectures in Psychology at Bangor University and is a part of the Psychology team overseeing the British Gymnasts earmarked for the 2004 Athens Olympics based at Lilleshall.

In the little spare time available, she has moulded herself in a year from a Level 2 to a Level 3 coach and following a strict recruitment procedure she has won through to the course that starts this Thursday at the Vale of Glamorgan in Hensol.

As the only female on the 32 strong course, Kylie will be representing the future of Women’s rugby. Director for Rugby for Women and Girls Richard Hodges said “We are proud of her achievements to date and I know she will do very well over the next four days. Who knows, we may be looking at the next Senior Women’s coach for the Welsh squad?”

The course runs from Thursday to Sunday covering all aspects of modern day rugby. Guest coaches such as Clive Griffiths, Leigh Jones and Mike Ruddock will all be present to pass on their knowledge as the WRU looks to help its future coaches to climb the coaching ladder.

The WRU’s coach education manager, Leighton Morgan commented “It is great to see the WWRU developing their coaches alongside the men. Kylie has fully warranted her inclusion on this course and I look forward to working with her this weekend.”
