Division 1.

Leaders Maesteg scored an impressive 26-3 away win to Brynmawr with fomer Wales cap Allan Bateman among the try-scorers while inactive Llanharan saw Narberth and Whitland move closer with good away victories – Narberth by 47-14 at Treorchy and Whitland, aided by 20 points from fly half Aled Davies, won 25-11 at Glamorgan Wanderers.

Beddau gained a good 25-18 success over Llangennech where two referees were in action; Blackwood pounded ailing Tondu 86-7 with 12 tries and 26 points from Jeremy Lloyd; Carmarthen Athletic were 38-31 winners at UWIC and Bonymaen registered a 34-22 success at Tredegar with 19 points from young fly half Anthony Evans.

Division 2.

Llantrisant scrum-half Ian Worgan was the toast of his club after scoring 29 points in their narrow 36-28 home win over Rhymney in Two East. He bagged five penalties and two conversions to add to a couple of touchdowns, and the Black Army sneaked home to an eight-point win.

Huw David crossed for their other try but the Brewers kept in the game with five-pointers from Justin Pinch (2), David Moseley and Barry Davies who also landed a conversion and couple of penalties.

Gethin Thomas crossed for three of Merthyr’s seven tries as the Ironmen powered to a 50-18 win over Croesyceiliog and Abercynon beat Llantwit

Fardre 29-25 thanks to the kicking of fly half Matthew Turner who landed a conversion and four penalties.

Peter Kane was another in fine kicking form as Cwmllynfell beat Two West top of the table Dunvant 36-20. He slotted over five penalties and converted all three tries. The victory took Cwmllynfell to second as both Corus and Bridgend Athletic lost to Felinfoel and Tonmawr respectively.
