Going Is Good For Wwru Race Night

The WWRU are hosting a Race Night at the Cardiff Arms Park on the 6th February 2004 to help raise money for their tour to South Africa in May.

120 guests including members of the WWRU National Squad will attend this unique night. It is a race night with a difference; there are no big screen televisions and videos of races. It involves racing six ‘specially trained’ horses across the floor and is an evening full of audience participation!

The ‘race meeting’ will see guests racing in six races from the Grand ‘Slam’ National to the William Webb Ellis Gold Cup!

Tickets for the event are £10, which includes a buffet and are available from the WWRU.

The WWRU are looking for race and horse sponsors to help raise the £40,000 needed for the tour. The WWRU have been working towards the tour for the last six months and already raised a considerable amount through the Touch Rugby tournament in the Millennium Stadium at the beginning of January. Other events are also helping to boost the fundraising with a raffle and WWRU dinner planned for later in the year.

If you would like to attend the Race night, or you are interested in sponsoring a WWRU event please contact Laura Oakes on 02920 822442.
