Cardiff jumped a further two places up the table as they pulled ff one of their best wins of the season by defeating Carmarthen Quins 35-7 at the Arms Park in a rearranged match.

Wing Johnny Vaughton went over the Quins line on five occasions, though one was ruled out for a forward pass, and other tries for Cardiff came from skipper Owen Ruttley and Elgan Jones with young scrum half Wayne Evans crossing for the Quins.

Newport and Neath remain locked at the of the divison, but with the Black and Ambers having two games in hand.
