Biarritz fly-half Julien Peyrelongue, who won his first cap in place of Michalak against Italy, drops out. Laporte also kept faith in Christophe Dominici, despite the wing blowing a try in the lacklustre 25-0 win over the Azzurri.

Scrum-half Jean-Baptiste Elissalde, who strained a calf muscle against the Italians, is also fit to play.

“It’s nothing serious. I’ll start training again on Wednesday,” Elissalde said after a scan on Tuesday. The scrum-half hopes to be available for Toulouse’s match at Beziers on Saturday prior to the trip to Cardiff. Laporte will name his starting XV on March 3rd 2004.
