Llangefni and Corus will be flying the flag for the minnows of Welsh rugby as they are the only clubs from outside of the Premier Division and Division One to survive to the last 16.

Little Llangefni are the rank outsiders, being from Division Four North – the only North Wales club still in. Yet, they have followed a bye with four victories to reaxch this stage.

While Llangefni are expected to lose at Caerphilly, Corus from Division Two West, could be in with a chance, at home to Brynmawr, who themselves knocked Cardiff out of the competition by 3-0.

Neath start the round as favourites, though they will be extended at Whitland, but the Welsh All-Blacks go for a unique treble, having been first winners of the Cup 1972 and first winners of the Premier League in 1991, as this is the first Konica Minolta Cup.

Holders Llanelli will find it hard to gain a win at Cross Keys, where Carmarthen Quins and Newport have already perished. This is the first meeting of the clubs in the Cup and will be the 159th tie played by Llanelli with 138 matches won thus far.

Aberavon take on Bonymaen, with the visitors having several of their former clubmen in the Wizards lineup, while Pontypridd will go to Bedwas and provide stiff opposition. Bridgend are expected to be too strong for an out-of-form

Blackwood and Ebbw Vale will entertain Swansea and do so again in the league seven days later.

Neither Ebbw Vale nor Swansea have conceded a point in the cup this season, but Swansea have also amassed 175 points in two rounds to the 64 of the Vale.

Swansea have won six of their seven previous cup meetings, but the only match at Eugene Park – in 1998 – saw Ebbw Vale win 27-13.
