Race for Life, sponsored by Tesco, has quickly become one of the most exciting and popular events in Wales with 15,165 women taking part in the events last year helping to raise over £50 million to date towards Cancer Research.

Race for Life is a unique series of women-only, 5km walks or runs, raising money for research into the treatment, cure and prevention of cancer. 2004 will be the biggest Race for Life ever with 150 events across the country and an estimated 325,000 women-taking part.

Race for Life, Wales will take place in Aberystwyth, Rhyl, Cardiff, Swansea, Torfaen, Carmarthenshire and Cardiff on dates from May to July.

Cancer Research UK Race for Life is supported at each of the races in Wales by volunteers from the Welsh Women’s Rugby Union. The Welsh Women’s National squad will start the race in Cardiff, with many women’s rugby teams helping out in their local races.

If you are interested in helping out at your local race or taking part please contact Nic Clarke on 029 2073 6848 or nic.clarke@cancer.org.uk
